Final Major Project: Mystic Wonderland

Final Major Project: Mystic Wonderland

The ‘Mystic Wonderland’, is a collection that allows you to transport into a world of mystery and wonder, immersing yourself in the vivid colours and repeats. This collection takes many forms, empowering all the senses with its bold colours and textures. Rosy has taken her inspiration, from the world of witchcraft and sorcery, to envisage a room fit for a fortune teller.

Her passion for witchcraft comes from living in the rural landscape of Dartmoor, hearing the folktales all through her childhood. She explored different effects in design, from digital to Devore to lino printing, and showed a range of these techniques throughout the collection; intertwining them with the juicy colour palette that adds to the mystery, but also gives a wow factor to brighten up a room. The cushions are made with natural fabrics to give an element of witchy naturalism to their materials. The main focus in the collection is illustrating raw, genuine print work, hand-printing with lino to give it individuality.

We also had a show at the end of the year, and got to show our work at Bovey Craft festival which was an amazing experience, one I would love to do again with my small business someday!
