During my years at Arts University Plymouth, we were given live briefs to give us an idea of what working with a client entails. This was a good introduction to how our professional career could be and gave us valuable skills such as understanding the client’s needs, trend research and marketing.
LIVE BRIEFS
Eden project
This project was a live brief, where we worked alongside the Eden Project to develop either a product or a range of sustainable souvenirs with their retail space as an independent freelance designer. I chose to make a print and some scarves inspired by the Garden of Eden; celebrating women’s and mother nature’s natural beauty.

year one.
I created greeting cards, wire decorations and wrapping paper, all made with sustainable materials. My cards and wire decorations were successful in making it through!
year two.
For the second year, I made pouches using organic/ sustainable fabrics. These were successful in being put in their retail space.
It was my first experience of being stocked in a retail space and I loved it! I will always be grateful to MAKE SouthWest for having me.
